Who Are We?

And do we really drink that much beer?

We are two dog walking, middle-aged crazy cat ladies, who are madly in love with each other and beer.

Our mundane life has been Ottawa since each of us was little, living in the same neighbourhood for years until we were introduced by friends.  We support ourselves and our beer habit by running our own business – although, not beer related.  Like so many other people the pandemic has, shall we say, freed up a surprising amount of time, which we have decided to use to inflict our thoughts and opinions of local beer and breweries on a larger audience.  Believe us, our friends and family have heard it all already.

He

He is the OG crazy cat lady. Slightly older than She, He is a hard working, solitary Scorpio who loves to make things. While his love of beer goes all the way back to buying it (underage) at the depanier, the rise of local craft breweries has had significant impact on the quality of beer he drinks.

His favourite beer styles include just about all of them… Although He goes back and forth between the lighter pilsner and Kolch styles and the rich and dark porters and stouts.

His Desert Island beer is Overflow’s Rearview pilsner.

She

She was a reluctant crazy cat lady until the first kitten came home…  The rest as they say is history.  A bit younger, She is the detail oriented side of the partnership; a solitary Cancer who knits a lot and occasionally cheats on beer with wine.  The love of beer came later in life for her and her pallet is not yet as finely tuned.

Her favourite beer styles are IPAs – hop-bombed or classic, they are all good for Her.

Her Desert Island beer is Overflow’s Landlocked double dry hopped IPA.
